Serendipity sometimes bring us closer to perfection, like the composition of this coffee - a mix of Caturra, Catuai, and an unknown varietal that has a wonderful malic acidity.
Yader & Karen, a coffee farming couple with Gold Mountain Coffee Growers, live at one of the highest altitudes for coffee growing in Nicaragua. Their farm, El Cipres, is located within a unique microclimate which is cooler than other coffee-growing regions. This lower temperature allows the coffee cherries two months longer to mature, collect more nutrients, and become sweeter. Good things come to those who wait, and the results shine through in the cup.
Gold Mountain Coffee Growers is a social enterprise that works directly with coffee producers in Nicaragua, including Yader & Karen to connect them with roasters abroad like Bettr Coffee.
